(BUENA PARK, Calif.) – Over 50 public sector workers in the City of Buena Park have voted to join Teamsters Local 911. This group of public works employees includes drivers, fleet mechanics, sewer service technicians, signs and markings technicians, water services technicians, maintenance helpers, and traffic painters.
“Buena Park, home to Knott’s Berry Farm, is a destination city. These workers improve life for residents and visitors, and they deserve a robust contract,” said Ray Whitmer, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 911. “Thanks to their belief in the Teamsters difference, they will now negotiate better compensation and working conditions.”
“We joined the Teamsters for their strong tradition of representation. Their day-to-day service is essential to us,” said Joe Rivera, a lead maintenance worker in Buena Park’s Park Department. “A stronger union means a stronger contract.”
Teamsters Local 911 represents thousands of public sector workers throughout Southern California. For more information, visit teamsters911.com.
